clear up a few questions

WELCOME TO MY HUT!

ok, so after much attention, this is the negen, which is the bathroom! really glamorous i think. i know a lot of people where wondering about all this personal hygiene stuff so this is just the beginning.

now please go eat some good food and enjoy your ice!  i'm off the another meeting and a whole night of language studying...

and we're off!

we'll folks here we are. i'm sitting on the floor of dulles international airport in washington, DC getting ready to board a plane that will take us to paris, and then we will board a plane that will get us to mali (of course that will be tomorrow night, oh the time change). it's a lot to take in. but i have to say that already i am kind of in love with the 22 other people in my group. it's a diverse bunch, literally coming from all over the states and we all have our own hopes, fears, and anxieties. we will spend the next week together before we go off to homestays. no matter what, these will be my people. we will become official volunteers together, go through training together, have our ups and downs together, and end together.

it's weird to think of the next 27 months, so i won't. i'll take it one day at a time.

i'm not sure what the blog will look like while i'm abroad. it will focus on my time in Mali, but i will keep you up with the lifestyle, fashion, markets, and everyday adventures i have. it will be a true adventure and test, and you will certainly be around for the ride.

thanks for being with me thus far.
